Meret Oppenheim a Swiss-German surrealist/dada artist (though she cared about aesthetics) created a well known sculpture called Object (Le Dejeuner en fourrure) in 1936. It consists of a teacup, saucer and spoon that the artist covered with fur from a Chinese gazelle.
Designklub did a great post about these interesting and usable teacups that made me think of Oppenheim.
