Friday night we had a surprise party for my mom’s 60th birthday at her friend Jane’s beautiful office. I noticed that all the ladies were on the black tights bandwagon. I love that bandwagon. It was my favorite element of Zac Posen’s pre-fall collection.
I also wore my pjs to the party….yes pjs. I have this little 40’s vintage bed jacket that I tied at my ribs. I wore it over a Vera Wang nightgown cinched at the waist with a velvet ribbon (found in the scrap bin at work earlier in the day…I love being an art teacher). I donned black tights too with white shoes. The ribbon was a pinkish mauve similiar to the Alexis Bittar lucite ring (this color, with this bee) in the same pink around my neck…oh and my MJM earrings.
My friend Violet was wearing a lovely/sexy long dress that could also be a stunning nightie. So I say pajama party chic might be the next bandwagon.
I love the way my mom’s best friend Tina and friend Susan wore their black tights. I also love their dutch girl haircuts and natural understated style. I wish I took a photo of Tina’s daughter Lizzie in her high waisted jean skirt. High-waisted…my other favorite bandwagon. I feel like this post is evocative of the ole prairie pioneer wagon trains.
Enough with the bandwagons you say?!! Never!
Some other photos from the party are here.
I love the black tights “bandwagon” too! 🙂
Such stylish women at your mom’s birthday bash!! (To go gray so beautifully… I could only wish.)
and the white shoes with the black tights… soooo works! The outfit is chic and one of a kind. Bravo!
I created a post about Good Grace and the shirt I just ordered from you. So check back within the week for it!!! Thanks for checking out Maquette!
I agree those ladies are gorgeous.
Is that Violet Gaynor from Lucky? She’s consistently my favorite of all the “Cute Outfit of the Day” posts. Please tell her!
Yes it’s her. She has amazing style! I’ll tell her you said so.
