July 2008

I’d happily wear any of these comfy and cool t-shirts from Chocosho

Chocosho Tees

The Tees from Chocosho would be perfect for a kick-back holiday weekend. Oh and remember this picnic dress? I wish I had it for this weekend. My plans are to go to a picnic and watch fireworks, do lots of art, see the Buckminster Fuller exhibit at the Whitney, and have brunch with friends on Sunday, and then do lots more art till work resumes on Monday. Sound good? How about you? I’d love to hear your plans. Doing anything creative?

Brandbird + The July issue of Lovely Magazine with my “Elements” illustrations

Brandbird

Jules Davis is Brandbird. Her work is clean, modern, and graphic. I love her silhouette prints and patterns especially but she has a broad range of branding services especially in the entertainment field. Jules does everything from visual communications, licensing style guides, surface patterns, apparel graphics, consumer products marketing, along with web design. You must check out her site. The samples I included in this post don’t do her work justice!

The Elements Illustration for Lovely Magazine

The July issue of Lovely Magazine is live. My Elements illustrations are in it and they put a picture of me on the contents page, how nice.

“sad” girl illustrations I did as part of a job for Glamour Magazine (Sept. issue)

Crying

I did four spot illos for the Sept. issue of Glamour. I’m not sure which one they’ll choose from the ones above. I submitted both.
Here’s one that got rejected, they wanted her hands covering her face:
Sad girl

Hope you all had a nice day today? I was sort of tired at work and then internet was down when I got home so that depressed me into taking a nap. I’m trying to be productive now but sometimes the more there is to do the slower I become.

Go figure.
