There’s something so wonderful about the juxtaposition of skulls with flowers and cupcakes and delightful colors. I culled these photos from flickr and the t-shirt from 2K Gingham. Here’s another cool one from ffound.
The photos above are from these flickr folk:

i love the day of the dead stuff. my favourite thing i’d love to have is a day of the dead bride, a skeleton in full bridal regalia. when i lived in arizona, i remember day of the dead parties at the cemeteries…actually we did that in manila too 🙂
I don’t know too much about it but every time I see the painted skulls I’m amazed. I kind of want to get a raw wood one and paint it you know? We should both do it. When is the day of the dead? Same time as Halloween?
i believe so. i think it’s supposed to be a day to celebrate those who have passed and it becomes one big party at the cemeteries!
i love the painted skulls. you can buy frosted sugar ones and they’re yummy 🙂
They have their attractiveness!!!
ooohhhh yum!!!
Karina, I know…aren’t they pretty?!
love those cupcakes! have you ever been to la sirena on 3rd st (& bowery I think?) its crammed full of mexican gifts and they have an amazing collection of skulls.
No but I will have to go check it out asap!! Thanks for the great tip Kate!
