I’m excited to give you a little sneak peek of some of the work I’ll be showing in a group show entitled “Lady” with fellow lady illustrators: Dallas Shaw, Christina Entcheva, & Leigh Bullard. We’re all inspired by the female form and our work is heavily inspired by fashion so we’re having the show at the fabulous Charles Nolan flagship store in NY. Save the date, the show is June 13th from 5-8.

We’ll tell you more about it soon….but we just couldn’t wait to tell you and show you our poster.

I did the hand lettering and design of the poster/card which was really fun considering I got to admire all of these talented ladies fine work! check their sites out.

Vaute Couture winter lookbook sneak peek

I was so thrilled when Vaute Couture founder/pres Leanne Hilgart contacted me to work on their winter lookbook. I can’t show you everything till it’s out but above are a hand-lettered logo and coat liner I illustrated for Vaute and below are some coat titles I also lettered. I got a sneak peek of the coats and they’re fabulous. I can’t wait to wear one this coming winter.

Vaute Couture is a fashion experiment with a mission to birth the ultimate winter coat (“V” is for vegan). Coats are designed by budding designers and then chosen by the collective intelligence of our community. My friend Dallas Shaw designed one for this coming winter. Stay tuned for the whole lookbook in a few months.

If you are in Manhattan this weekend you must check out the Domino Magazine Tag Sale!!!! Ouch. Joanna you are the queen of amazing finds. This one looks too good. I might have to hold back for fear that I’d try to buy everything!

Flower field in yellow: Polaroids by Let’s Explode

I’m in love with these polaroids of a girl lounging in a flower field. Imagine what it feels like to have the cool grass and flowers all around you, the warmth of the sun on your face and bare feet & the sweet smell of spring. What a lovely series. Chelsea found it and posted it on her amazing blog, Frolic where I visit for daily inspiration.

Stymie: Claire Nereim’s new t-shirt company

One of my favorite artists Claire Nereim (interviewed here) just launched a tshirt line with her friend Julie Cloutier, called Stymie Apparel. The first shirt in their collection, released yesterday, presents an A made from a Z and a Z made from an A, screenprinted front/back on super soft tees for guys and girls in white and cream. They are available in 3 sizes at STYMIE. There will be more styles coming soon but each style will be very limited edition. I’m loving them, get yours now! I think they go nicely with her star posters featured above.
