I’m excited to be teaming up with the fine folks at Perigee to give one lucky reader this amazingly fun book. Learn how to make mid-century cocktails, dress and do your hair like a secretary, make a hot toddy, dance the Charleston, and find out what jai alai is!
Leave a comment below and I’ll randomly pick a winner to receive the book (you have until Monday). If you feel like it tell me your favorite Mad Men character and why. I love Peggie. She’s feisty and clever. Below are some fun pages from the book.
I think 50’s style clothes would look great on me!
I’m a Mad Men fan and this looks like an extraordinary book!
I like Betty’s character. She seems to have values she follows but she also does silly things from out of the blue. Also, I think she tends to be selfish and loving at the same time. The show would be less interesting without her.
But hands down, Joan has the best dresses.
By the way, I like the font type you use on your blog. What’s it called?
I moved to New York with the images of the 40’s and 50’s in my head — wanted to drink swanky cocktails with handsome men on endlessly fascinating evenings on the town.
I’m also a Peggy fan…good for her getting out of the secretarial pool and into a creative spot. Don is wonderfully complex. This looks like fabulous book…love the illustrations. 😉
JOAN and ROGER. I love this book!
I Love Mad Men. My favorite character is Joan! She has great style!
I’ve been saying that someone should do a Mad Men graphic novel….here is who should do it!!! (I can consult on script, of course).
I love Joan! This book looks fantastic!
Joan is my absolutely favorite character, because she’s a feisty, pale, busty redhead like me! Oh and I love her clothes 🙂 Thanks for such a great giveaway!
hey Alison….I love your reasoning. Yes she does have great cloths but boy does she know how to pull them off too!
If this is open for overseas readers, I would like my name put into the hat! I do not know anything about Mad men but would certainly like to know now that I’ve read this little bit!
Peggy, she reminds me of myself in some ways and I love seeing how she has matured and opened up on the show.
Oh, I would love to win this–I adore mid-century everything, and of course, Mad Men! Happy birthday btw! I hope you are doing something wonderful!
xoxo
thanks guys!!! I wish I had a copy for all of you. Hopefully nobody will comment and there will be a small pool ; )
I love Don Draper. Yes, he is not a good man…but so handsome and flawed. I am the cliche woman who loves the bad boy!
I remember adults dressed like this when I was little. Addicted to the show, and also suffering a girl crush on Joan.
I adore Joan – she displays such grace in every scene.
What a great idea!! I love illustrations and info-graphics, my latest love affair. Combining mad men and illustrations – to die for!! I love peggy because she smart, and there’s always something fabulous and scandalous going on!
Great work
My favourite is definately Joan 🙂 love her clothing style & her attitude (outspoken & professional – i’ve actually taken notes for my current job ^^). I also love the fact that she’s CURVY and looks AMAZING (away with body stereotypes!!) 😀
Both my gay and straight brothers love this show – maybe there’s something to it.
It’s perfect for everyone!!!!
Cool book would really love to add it to my collection. Thank you for th e opportunity!!!!
