Aphro Chic + the NY Times!

Happy to share news of a great collaboration that just came to fruition! Fellow design blogger, Jeanine of Aphro Chic approached me to illustrate and design some products for her amazing Brooklyn Renaissance collection (cushions, place mats and shower curtains). I was thrilled to create images stemming from a Brooklyn theme. It’s my home and I love it! Today the collection was featured in the New York Times, Home & Garden section. Jeanine and I are pinching ourselves. My agency posted all the pillows on their blog.

Here’s an excerpt from the my interview about the illustrations in the Times:

Ms. Hahn imagined four style icons: women from Fort Greene, Park Slope, Boerum Hill and Clinton Hill ($105 each). Rather than aiming for a microcultural stereotype, she was after a certain aesthetic, she said: “Like a Brooklyn design blogger — she’s urban, she likes music and flea markets, she wants to come home and put her feet up in her chic brownstone with its midcentury furniture. The girls are interchangeable. You could put them in any of those neighborhoods. They are all the new bohemians.”

I’m signing off for the weekend now to gather my thoughts, work on freelance projects, personal projects and most importantly to spend time with my baby and husband! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Thanks, as always, for your kind comments on this blog and facebook. XO.
