daily drawing: Space garden

space garden

I had a stamp made with one of my little drawings of flowers. I incorporated it into one of my watercolor circle daily drawings. I think it looks like a space garden. Maybe the Little Prince could live safely there?

Have a lovely weekend. We’re going out to celebrate my father in-law’s birthday tonight, tomorrow to a wedding at a farm and Sunday giving Henry a chance to swim in a kiddie pool on my parent’s patio. Monday I’m going to the YSL documentary with a bunch of my blogger girlfriends and then the week is full of freelance projects and wrapping up my school year. Then I’ll be working working working all summer on preparing for my solo show in Sept. at Gallery Hanahou. Busy busy= fun fun.

Have a splendid weekend!

Happy Anniversary

davesamkissing
in lieu of posting my usual content I have to tell my webmaster I love him. Today is our anniversary. We’ve been together shy of 8 years but have been married for 4. It honestly feels like yesterday that we met. I hate to be cliche but I am truly married to my best friend. Every single day is better than the last. I’m so grateful to be going through this life together and now with our son…

Sakura Bloom Styleathon illustrations

Sakura girl

I was happy to create the illustrations for the Sakura Bloom Styleathon.

Follow along with nine of the most influential, trend-setting women in the blogosphere (and their babies!) as they fire up their fashion savvy and compete to style the most fabulous, original outfits around Sakura Bloom slings and key wardrobe pieces.

My friend Leigh Pennebaker of the Marvelous Kiddo blog is hosting and my other dear friend Joanna Goddard of A Cup of Jo will be participating. Can’t wait to see how these stylish moms pull themselves together.

Summer internship?

I’m excited to announce that I’m looking for a summer intern, preferably an art/design student at FIT, Parsons, SVA, Pratt or Cooper Union (a NYC art school) looking for college credit. I’m reaching out to Maquette readers first. Candidate must be an enthusiastic, creative, organized art/ design undergrad or grad. student with knowledge of Photoshop and great research skills. Knowledge about blogging and social media is a plus.

I’m looking for assistance on a few research/ marketing projects. I’d love to give you more details. Please send along an informal cover letter, resume and a little information about yourself. I’d like to meet in person initially but will most likely be able to correspond via email for most of the work.

I’d be looking for about 5-10 hours a week for a month and possibly longer if it works out well. If this is something that interests you, drop me a line.

Last week I attended an art show featuring lots of great people I went to college with. I can’t help but feel proud of my peers. They are all doing such amazing things in the art world. Tara Donne, a photographer in high demand working for clients from Martha Stewart Magazine to the Sunday Times was there wearing a stunning 50’s style pink dress that looked incredible on her tall frame.

I could browse her site forever. Check it out.
