Shoe wish list

shoe round up

Happy Friday. I have a busy day and I’ll be out of the studio a lot! Do March showers also bring May flowers?

I’ve been in the mood for some new spring shoes. I love heels so much and think they look super flattering (my favorite designer is Rachel Comey. Her wooden stacked heel boots and shoes are works of art!). However, I also love the freedom of running around town. I find myself leaving my heels in the closet most days in favor of trainers which don’t make me feel like I look great. I’m in the market for shoes that I can slip on, feel happy with the way I look and not hurt my tootsies! With this goal in mind I put together a little wish list for myself, both sneakers and sandals:

  1. Pour La Victoire Narissa High Tops (I love high tops, they’re super cute. I think they’d look good with cropped pants this spring or even with skinny jeans on chilly days)
  2. Michael Kors Zoe Sandals (These sandals have a platform but would feel ostensibly flat since the heel is only 1/2 higher than the toe platform)
  3. Superga Cotu Classic Sneakers (An everyday simple/classic sneaker for cropped pants, shorts, skirts, jeans….anything!)
  4. 3.1 Philip Lim Sidibe Flat Sandals (Major splurge but these would be forever show stopping in dresses, skirts, cropped pants, paper bag trousers and comfortable at the same time. Here’s a cheaper alternative)

Social Anarchy Designs

Henry and I went to Madison Sq. park yesterday. On the long line for the swings we struck up a conversation with an adorable little baby and his stunning mama (it’s so nice meeting people this way). I’ve not met anyone interesting on the playground since leaving Brooklyn.

Anyway Gia (the mama) happened to be wearing the most beautiful and bad-ass jewelry. I had to ask about it. Turns out she designs it.

Her line is called Social Anarchy Designs. I want everything especially the mismatched studs and the rune necklace. If I could re-do my wedding/engagement rings I’d definitely be shopping with Gia.

I’ve posted about Anna Aden‘s stunning photography many times before. I recently visited her site to find new work. I love the above pieces for their starkness and beauty. They’re both in the aptly names series Plainness.

Girl Crush!

Girl crush
I’m rather obsessed with Pinterest. I feel like I’m surfing a veritable wave of aesthetic inspiration everytime I poke around. I love culling my very own inspiration library. I aimed to keep my boards to a minimum but noticed that I was posting a lot of icons to my “pretty” board so I decided to delineate a bit and create a “girl crush” board. Now my “pretty” board can be for other pretty things from paintings to book covers to editorials to ephemera. Women with substance, style and beauty can be under one roof on my “girl crush” board.

Hope you like! Have a great Monday.
