Emma Straub on my reading list

I’m in the midst of finishing my first solo book. It’s been an amazing and challenging experience. I’m in awe of the whole book process and can’t imagine penning an entire novel.

I’m super impressed and inspired by literary- gal- about- town: Emma Straub, a talented up and coming novelist with two books in the universe and multiple articles and stories in publications like The Paris Review, Slate and The New York Times. She also writes for teen bible–Rookie. In her spare time she acts as reporter at literary events. Watch this video. I especially enjoyed her interaction with Simon Doonan who naturally has unsolicited fashion advice for the Emma in her snazzy pink vintage frock. Anyway, I am supremely excited to read Emma’s books when I’ve finished my own book —that seems to be taking forever. Add them to your book list immediately!

p.s I know you can’t judge a book by its cover but these covers are certainly well designed and enticing!

House of Rym

I’m so excited about this amazing new collaboration between Tunisian craftsmen Rym and Zied and Scandanavian designers Elisabeth Dunker and Anna Backlund. House of Rym – the place where ancient Tunisian handcrafts and contemporary Scandinavian design fall head over heels. Check out House of Rym.

Katherine and Audrey are some pretty kinesthetic gals.

***** UPDATE! Did you know that they’re 19th cousins once removed? I’m totally surprised to find that out. I thought Katherine was Audrey’s mom!
