I want to wish you all a truly beautiful holiday. I hope you surround yourselves with loved ones and enjoy a bit of a respite from your usual hectic lives.
We’ll be packing up our apartment, getting ready to move back to Brooklyn on January 9th. I’m dreading the packing but look forward to our new space. It has amazing light and is in a lovely quiet hood. I’ll share photos on instagram over the holiday week if you want to see what it looks like before our things move in (we just had it painted).
It feels fitting that we’ll be moving right as one year turns into the next. I always think of new years as a time for change, a time to deeply reflect on where I’ve been and where I’d like to be.
My goal for 2014 is to be grateful for where I already am, what I already have and to relish the moments that make up my life. I’ll still have goals but I don’t want them to trample the life that’s happening in the moment.
I’ve been feeling more and more compelled to try different things in my work lately which is why I was thrilled to do the Paris Review and the Apartment Therapy work. I don’t know what these patterns are for yet but I’m having a ball working this way.
Ok, I’ll sign off until after the holidays. Check out some posts you may have missed, below.
