I put some of my favorite literary heroines from Well-Read Women: Portraits of Fiction’s Most Beloved Heroines into love categories…since V-day is coming up. Which literary heroine can you relate with the most when it comes to love? Do you feel adored? Scorned? Do you pine?
Lover
I think that I definitely fall into the “piner” category. I generally love those heroines, my heart goes out to them, Anne Elliot from “Persuasion” in particular. “The one claim I shall make for my own sex is that we love longest, when all hope is gone.”
wow, what a quote Kristen. I guess there will have to be a volume two to include that gem.
I know, right, Sam? I remember this first time I ever read it, those words just ran through me and my heart broke a little…AND YES TO VOLUME 2!!! Or at least maybe an ancillary item or two?! I really think that we need to do something on that front!
Kristen, Caitlin says there may be a chance with B&N for ancillary. I’m so so so hoping! Fingers crossed. XOXO.
oh that juliet illustration, it’s so soft, so beautiful.
i love the words too of course….love is something to give away, not to be held onto. it just grows and grows.

I am a believer! “Love will carry you all lengths”. I truly believe this. Well said, Nancy! Love this post, Sam.

big hugs.
