Perfume Synesthesia Illustrations for Allure Magazine, September 2021

I took an online test to see if I have synesthesia because I do get a strong visceral response to color. That said, I’m not a synesthete. Boo hoo. I did however fully enjoy illustrating these perfume visualizations as described by famed perfumer Frédéric Malle who perceives smells as an array of colors. I’d personally love to try Synthetic Jungle.

I had fun working on these how-to illustrations for Allure Mag’s May issue. Face yoga seems absolutely manageable…no mat needed.

American Illustration 40 Selected Winner

From over 7,000 entries from 1,342 artists, art directors, publishers and agencies the @american_illustration_winners jury selected 426 images to represent the best pictures from 2020. The American Illustration 40 will feature 302 of the industry’s best illustrators. This illustration was selected.

Last spring right when everything started locking down I was curious what people were doing to carry on, to find the little moments of happiness that kept them going. I worked on illustrations featuring people and a little spot illustration of something they were doing. We chatted with designers, chefs and artists about trying new recipes, gardening, watching cartoons and everything in between.

Here’s the AI selected portrait of @museummammy that made the cut, originally for @thecut.
