Orange you glad I didn’t say banana?

Orange-post-image.jpg

Same wall, different light. I took these photos in my apartment at different times of day. The orange looks completely different in each photo. People’s skin tones are also affected by the combination of natural light with the wall color. I’m trying to be more aware of this in my paintings.

Fun info about orange from Wikipedia:

[Orange] can be associated with: energy, balance, heat, fire, enthusiasm, flamboyance, playfulness, aggression, arrogance, gaudiness, danger, enthusiasm, desire. [According to] chromatherapists, orange stands for the kindheartedness and warmheartedness of an individual. Astonishing results are ascribed to the use of the color orange to treat mental illness, depressions, discontent, and pessimism. Orange could be applied for the treatment of loss of appetite, anemia, anorexia, and digestive system discomforts. A person with an excess of orange could express confusion, tiredness, and pessimism.

Uh-oh, I live with a lot of orange … I’m really tired and hungry, got to go.

Men’s Fall Fashion Montage

These are great for work and play, if you don’t have to wear a suit to your day job.

The Jack Spade bag is my favorite. It’s well designed with quality construction. It goes great with the Lodis wallet; both have color interiors that peek out subtly.

My husband is obsessed with his Atwood tool. It’s handmade and has more functions than you might think. Their site has many more tools to choose from. You can keep one in your Jack Spade bag—how convenient!

Custom invitations: A good reason to have a party

I must tout the work of my old art school studio mates, the lovely and talented KenzieKate and Oh Joy!. These brilliant babes—I’m into alliteration today … tout talents, brilliant babes—have their own custom stationery lines and blogs to boot! They are both such amazing designers and artists.

I suggest you get married or have a party soon so you can put their talents to work.
