I just felt like sharing these fabulous photos from my parent’s elopement in Martha’s Vineyard at Kate Taylor’s tipi and Gayhead lighthouse. Can you spot Carly Simon?
I know, it’s crazy indeed! My dad was in the music business and he worked with James Taylor and his sister Kate and Carly. Carly was married to James. I love her!! Too bad I was not here in the world yet to have met her at their wedding!
these photos are blowing my mind!! and your mom was a babe (you DO look just like her!). if i ever have a wedding, there will totally be a tipi involved.
How absolutely AWESOME!
What a fun day they must have had, that’s what weddings should be like, awesome and fun, and yeah, involving a tipi!
Thanks for posting those pictures Samantha 🙂
They did enjoy it and have such lovely pictures to always treasure. Then they told their families who surprised them by throwing a little party for them upon their return…a perfect wedding.
I am new to your blog and am thoroughly enjoying it! Love your work and it’s fun to keep up with what’s going on. You do look so much like your mom – what cool photos to have!
Aww thank you so much! I’m so happy to have you here. I love sharing what I do, what I love, and what I hope will inspire others!! Thanks for your sweet comment.
Don’t think they had specific roles. My parents just said “Hey let’s elope” then Kate was like “Oh I’ll throw you a party at my tipi” and the rest of the guests besides Carly, Kate, Kate’s family were neighbors who brought food over and let my mom pick her bouquet in their gardens etc. I think it was really organic and just sort of came together. Wish my wedding were like that!
AWESOME!!!! Organic and real for sure! Thanks Samantha!
(and by the way Kate Taylor has a FABULOUS new CD out called FAIR TIME! Many of the songs reflect her history and stories of MV.) check it out. http://www.katetaylor.com
Hi Samantha – I found your blog this morning through Google alerts. The pictures of your parents wedding are awesome. Wow, Carly AND Kate… how terrific.
William, who posted above is a friend of mine and I second his recommendation for Kate’s new CD “Fair Time!” It’s got a lot of Vineyard in it 🙂 Carly is coming out with a new CD in October too.
I’m looking forward to looking through your blog more thoroughly.
