I’ve been meaning to post about this husband and wife duo, Aaron and Ayumi a.k.a Apak for a long while (I love husband and wife duos like sub-studio and Treatzone). What first caught my eye from Apak was their amazing terrariums.
Their work has an other-worldly quality. It’s bold and also dreamlike. Their gouache paintings are my favorite but their soft creatures are adorable too.
I wish they’d make a video showing how they collaborate. Poketo did a great interview with them. Check their site to find out about their shows.
Labor day has come and gone. We’re here in autumn- time for tights and leggings. When the baby is born I’ll get some cute styles. I love these, especially the first pair:

I hope you all have an absolutely lovely weekend planned. We’re going to my folk’s place where they’re throwing us a baby shower. My mom has been cooking up a storm: Red velvet cupcakes, empanadas, apple gallets etc…and my dad has been painting the porch steps and making the yard really party friendly. I hope it’s really nice out so people can play baci ball and lay around in the grass.
I love these beautiful baubles, so round and clean:
Went out for dinner with our friends in Red Hook, Brooklyn last night and sat outside in the garden. Ate citrus tapenade (olive tapenade with lemon juice, melted mozzarella and lemon zest), shaved leek and sliced apple salad with shredded parmesan and lettuce, gruyere fondue with crispy toast wedges. Being in Red Hook reminds me of Erie Basin where the beautiful, delicate Philip Crangi ring lives and of course the stunning jaw dropping Conroy & Wilcox rings.

I just love photos of people taking photos. Perhaps because they’re meta? This is a good one.
