DARK RUNWAY

I felt like painting again. Why am I into dark coats exactly? It’s spring after all. I guess I’m getting the last drop of winter out of my system. I’ll paint brightly from now on.

Anna Aden: Lily of the Valley

more Anna Aden

Ok, I’m posting about Anna Aden again but I just had the best spring weekend ever and wanted to stare at her light infused photography so I thought I’d share a nice one of a girl day-dreamily looking off into the distance. I picture a big green field in front of her with flowers blooming, the cool grass against her bare legs and feet and a gentle breeze pushing her hair around. I love spring.

Here’s my other Anna Aden post.

Yesterday we took baby Henry to the Metropolitan Museum of art, walked in Central Park and had brunch at a cute cafe. Life should be like this all the time.

Daffodil yellow: Garden party look

Daffodil Garden Party Outfit

My cold winter frown melted into a smile today! Spring is here. Nothing says spring like daffodils.

Here’s a daffodil inspired look. I think it would be fun to wear this to a garden party:

  1. Daffodil photo
  2. Leifsdotter dress
  3. Hetty Rose shoes
  4. Yellow Rayban sunglasses
  5. Kate Spade clutch
  6. Yellow Van sneakers (Just had to sneak these in cause they are so fun!! Perhaps if you are walking a distance to get to the garden party you’ll need these and then can switch into the Hetty Rose heels upon arrival)

Zhou Fan: Dream Paintings

zhou fan

I am utterly blown away by Zhou Fan, contemporary Chinese artist.

His is by far the best artist statement I’ve ever read:

A series of my paintings is based on dreams that I had as a child of many many jellyfish floating in the sky, some of which fell to the ground on parachures and became mushrooms. These dreams had a strong impact on me, and I remember them vividly. Somehow I feel that it is easier to focus on dreams than reality. In one particular painting, there is a boy crying because he keeps things within him, is easily sad, and he refuses to face reality.
