Chocolate color palette: Clothing and accessories for men and women in brown tones

Chocolate browns

I’m quite obsessed with color and how evocative it can be of feelings, memories, and tastes. I’ve decided to compile a few unisex fashion items within certain color palettes. Chocolate browns were a lovely place to start. The words that come to mind for me when I see a lovely shade of brown are “rich, luscious, and smooth”. These words can often circumvent boundaries and be used to describe foods like chocolate for example. I think brown is also an elegant color, understated, and classy. In certain fabrics its many tones can be seen such as in the silk blouse above. So here’s my chocolate palette. Some others I’d love to do are: Red, pink, orange and yellow.

Knit wit

Brrr. It’s getting cold out there again (at least here in New York). I covet hats even though with my long curly hair I seldom wear them. I usually wear earmuffs and feel silly. I often pretend I can’t hear my husband. He loves that game (when I say “love”, I’m using the word lightly).

Woman’s knit hats:

1 Eugenia Kim
2 Misha Lampert…ohhh nooo. I just noticed they’re out of stock on Shopbop. Check back in for it. It’s my favorite one…must be someone else’s too.

There Will Be Blood but not from Laser Cut Mirrors

Ok so I just got home from the movie, There Will Be Blood by P.T Anderson. I’m not going to attempt to be a film blogger but I have to say this film is not for the faint of heart. Paul Dano and Daniel Day Lewis earned their daily bread on this one. I have not seen such intensity in as long as I can remember. The music was so foreboding that I felt my heart clenching up….that feeling basically lasted the entire film as my knuckles turned white from squeezing my M&M bag. A truly incredible film.

More on Macarons, I’m just obsessed.

more on macarons

Ok, I’m still obsessing about macarons since my last post about them. I want to go back to Paris so badly. My husband does too but thinks we should be saving for an apartment and paying bills. Ugh he’s so logical. Anyway for today’s post, I happened upon the macaron plates and went from there. When I do paint the walls of our perspective first home I think using color hunter and my favorite macaron colors is a great plan.

2 Macaron tea set via paris breakfasts blog (I could not find the set when I followed the link…it’s nice to look at though).

3 Macaron color palettes via color hunter. This one reminds me of my recent post about wear palettes.

If anyone knows where to get the macaron tea set online please let me know. Also, don’t think I’d hesitate to post more about macarons if anyone comes up with more cool macaron color sites, products, or any macaron items I’m unaware of. I’d like to be a macaron expert (eater/ looker at that is, not maker, they’re too complicated).

•In other news, I’m working on some Valentine’s Day cards that I’m going to make available for free to download so if anyone has any feedback so far, share share. Here they are on flickr in early drafts. I’ll have to make two versions of each, one with color background and one plain so people can choose whether they want to print on color or white paper. They’ll be 5 X 7. More to come.

Nanette Lepore for Keds

Nanette Lepore is one of my favorite designers. So when I saw these I got excited.

Zappos has a decent collection of the Nanette Lepore/Keds designs. In fact I am the proud owner of the first pair, the yellow lace overlay on cyan. Lovely. Or check out the Keds site for them. Here’s a great male counterpart via Blackberrie.

I suppose I’m preemptively prepping for spring. It’s been unseasonably warm here in NYC. I even went jogging in a tank top the other day. Strange for January. There are many colors and styles though for the various seasons for those of you who stick to fashion codes of conduct.

I hear there’s a snow storm coming though so I may have to settle back into the michelan man look.
