Christiana Coop’s stunning SF Apt. and Ferm Living’s covetable wallpapers.

Stunning Apt

I just made friends with Christiana Coop of my favorite wallpaper company in the world, Ferm Living (it’s Danish but here in the US too). I’ve been coveting their papers since long before I knew we’d be moving to a new apt. Christiana Coop is their U.S. rep. and interior designer by day, blogger by night. Where does she find the time? We’re in the midst of a wallpaper for art print trade!! Can’t wait to do something creative with my samples.

Here’s her stunning apt. and an interview with her via Apartment Therapy.

Here’s one of my favorite wallpapers at Ferm.

* News: Here are some lovely blogs that just posted my work: The Paper Planes and Pullpin Hold.

Oh…one last thing, thanks to everyone who posted about my art valentine cards. I loved sharing them and hope there was something for everyone. When I have time I’ll make b’day cards. XO.

Seating for Eating

Note: Dave and I just moved into our new place and only have sporadic Internet access so please excuse spotty blogging over the next few days. I can’t wait to post pictures of what we’ve done with the new place so far, but in the meantime take a look at these two exciting posts about Maquette at Decor8 and design for mankind.

I’ve been in a frenzy looking for dining chairs for our new place at a decent price: good quality and great design. We’re getting a hand-me-down table from my folks. It’s parquet wood with a dark finish, very nice. Seats 6-8. After searching all around and getting great furniture links from TYS, Decor8, and Design*Sponge, I stumbled across another few sites I’d never heard of and fell in love with these 9 Dragones stackable chairs in natural. I just ordered them. I hope they look good in the new place, otherwise I’m one hasty girl. More on the apt. soon…with photos.

  2. Eiffel Chair (Eames-esq) chair on Advanced Interiors (great link TYS)
  3. Slim Chair on CB2

* Check out Grace from Design*Sponge‘s dining table roundup and dining chair bonanza for much much more prolific compilations than my humble little sample.

* here are chairs I dream about.

Decor8’s beautiful post about my work and my mini homage to the art/design blog community.

*Disclaimer: This post is a tad lovey dovey.

I love my community. By community I mean the collective of artists, designers, decorators, and style obsessed bloggers whose thoughts I tune into religiously (each with a distinctive voice and aesthetic). Blogging has been rewarding in so many ways. It helps me to maintain artistic momentum and brings me in contact with creative and fascinating people with inspiring ideas and talents. It’s a built-in network that pulls us all out of a navel gazing vacuum.

I thrive in an artistic community. For example, when I found out I was moving, I contacted Grace of Design Sponge & Mary Jo Matsumoto of TYS for their advice on where to look for dining chairs and tables. Both lovely and very busy ladies had a slew of advice. Even if I had not written them I could have perused their blogs or so many others like Decor8, Oh Joy, and Design for Mankind to name just a few. In blogging there’s no competition, no exchange of money…just the exchange of ideas in the open. We feed off each other, offer encouragement and have the opportunity to share what we love, what we do, and what we find on a daily basis from our studios or homes all over the world.

*Look at this beautiful post Holly of Decor8 wrote about my work. I’m just blown away with what she wrote. While you’re there you must check out the rooms she loves, they’re so inspiring.

Speaking of rooms and decorating. I’m moving all day today!!! Wish me luck!
