Jennifer Squires & Alena Hennesy: Beautiful things for you to admire in your home.

jennifer squires

Jennifer Squires just emailed me to let me know about her beautiful photoshop on etsy. I think it would be great to order like 5 prints from her and hang them next to each other on a white wall or cool sky blue. Thanks for sharing Jennifer!! Check out her commercial work here.

I also got a great message in my inbox today, Alena Hennesy who I’ve posted about before here and here is having a blowout sale on select items. I love her stuff. I would buy a lot of it but I’m spending all my do-ray-mi (oh my) on my fabric samples for Surtex. Please (all of you) go and support this incredible designer/artist. I’d like to live vicariously through you. If you do order something drop me a line with a picture of what you got so I can swoon.

We Jet Set: The best travel/life/work accoutrements I’ve ever seen. Plus, Dork Magazine.

wejetset

I just connected with the brilliant people over at Dork Magazine (a daily publication about art, habitat, & people) who also run the most fabulously curated online travel supply site. Why even bother going to Flight 001 when you can order the dazzling goods on wejetset. I’m totally obsessed with the jacket and sunglasses pictured. I’m also enamoured of the travel bag and wallet.

The site has everything you (whether you are a girl or boy) need for a weekend away, longer trip, or just because you want beautifully designed goods and gadgets in your everyday life. I truly want everything on there and their prices are not exorbitant. Next time I run into a suitcase of dough the jacket and glasses are mine. I was feeling an amber theme as you may have noticed. Here are the links to my favorite goods. I’ll list a few fabulous finds for men below that:

  1. DB Clay’s wood looking wallet
  2. Oliver Peoples paladino sunglasses
  3. WESC high neck shell (I am madly in love with this jacket, to me it’s perfection)
  4. Casauri weekend tote & travel ID tags
  5. 1oz essentials by Malin+Goetz
  6. Lomo notebook

For the fellas:

  1. Haas jacket
  2. Dosh wallet
  3. WESC headphones
  4. Mosely Tribes sunglasses
  5. Nooka watch (this is great for the ladies too, I would love to wear it)
  6. Horizontal Limit messenger bag

Serving trays that are too delightful to cover with teapots and finger sandwiches.

delightful serving trays

Serving trays are such a great surface venue for decorative art and patterns. Plus, I love the variety of shapes they come in. The trays above are available from these fantastic online shops. Check them out.

Bunny Maxwell:

1.Decorative tray

2.Oblong tray

How fun and vintage inspired! I wish I could be a 30’s girl in silk frocks with marcel curls and satin shoes.

Deadly Squire:

I had to list (3.) two circular trays. It was a duel for me…I mean tie. I got to meet the male half of this amazing team at Brooklyn Flea. He was great. So if you want to purchase some deadly goods in person go to the Flea. I promise to post photos from my little trip there in the near future. I’m just frantic getting all my samples made in time for Surtex and making more patterns. These guys print their own stuff. Two hardy pats on the back squires.

Feeling More Human:

Lovely and evocative of vintage horticultural drawings.

Caitlin Mocuin: delicate, intricate, and beautiful clothing.

Mociun

This week I leave you with a post on Caitlin Macoin, a designer I admire so much. Not only does she create her own patterns (she studied textile design) but the cut and silhouette of her clothing is so lovely and wearable. I feel like I could breeze along in one of her whimsical dresses. I love the one in the last photo above. You can read more about her here, and you can buy her beautiful designs at one of my favorite online shops, Beklina, also: all over the country and world, & online at these shops.

I think I messed up my threadless submissions. I understand what to do better next time. I should not have left the ground white for one thing. Oops. I’ll have to go back to the drawing board. You live and learn. I’m swamped getting ready for Surtex anyway. I have been working my usual job 8-3 and then doing patterns from 5-midnight almost everyday. I can’t wait to see how it goes. I’ll post new patterns next week. I hope you all have a lovely spring weekend and holiday if you celebrate Passover.
