Vintage stocking ad

60s advertisement

I’m so busy at the Print Source show…showing all of my prints….so tired. So I leave you with this 1960’s stocking advertisement via vi.sualize.us. I love it!

Illustration to showcase my prints

applications

What an exhausting day. It took so long to set up the trade show. The first surface pattern show I did was last may and I had hard walls. This show it’s curtains. So I had to get big sheets of foam core and hang all of my prints on them. It took ages and I didn’t take a photo cause I still have a few things to do in the morning. Tomorrow’s the first show day. I made these little illustrations to showcase my prints within. They’re on display amongst a sea of pattern!

Wish I could say more….so tired. XO.

Geek chic take 3: glasses made of tape and more more pretty girls in specs

Rachel Griffin
Perhaps, I should make my geek chic glasses out of tape so that if they break I can repair them without changing their aesthetic!? I love Rachel Griffin‘s glasses via It’s Nice That.

Here are geek chic take one and two.

Monday, I’m at the print source show setting up my booth. I’ll try to post pictures on Tues. when everything is on display! Check out the Poppytalk Market today. My shop will be featured as part of “Love transforms”.

Peachy pinks, sorbet oranges, cherry reds… my favorite colors!

I’m getting everything printed up for the trade-show. Next week I’ll post my experience there. I’m going to get to meet a bunch of other bloggers/designers so that should be fun.

The economy is a wreck though. I hope I’m not sitting in my little colorful booth, with an eager face, surrounded by all of my prints waiting for clients who aren’t going to come. This new year I resolved to be more positive so this will be a good opportunity to attempt a big feat.

The prints above are a small sample of new work. I went for a warm and delicious palette for spring/summer 2010. These colors just feel so dreamy to me.  Actually my Love themed prints with the same color-ways for Valentine’s day were just posted about by the fabulous Holly Becker of Decor8 on her ‘mistress’ blog over at Real Simple called Simply Stated. Wish you all the most lovely weekend dear readers.

I’m always showing you my more illustrative pattern work. I just posted about my latest work in Faesthetic and I’ve done illustrative patterns for Craft Magazine and other clients too. I love working that way. However, I’m about to do a surface pattern trade show and I wanted to do some patterns that could be used for home decor and apparel.

Also, you’ll be the first to hear it, I’m putting together a book about love in time for Valentine’s day. I’ve asked some of my favorite artists from around the web to contribute….more details later!!

In other news. I love this photo via Art Deco blog:
