Emilie Clark: My Garden Pets

Emilie Clark 1
emilie clark
Last Friday, I took baby Henry and a friend to the Brooklyn Botanical gardens. We strolled under dogwood trees and into a Japanese garden where we stood looking into a coy pond. It was a magnificent day. Who knew that I’d leave totally inspired by a gallery show.

Inside one of the buildings near some carnivorous plants an amazingly beautiful show was hung. The artist Emilie Clark is now one of my new favorites. She flits back and forth from medical illustrations to gallery installations to daily paintings.

If you have the chance to visit the gardens/ her show you may be blown away. If not, check it out on the garden’s site. Also be certain to visit Emilie’s site. I love her Home Studies in Nature series and Letters to Mary Ward.

Print & Pattern Book by Bowie Style

my spread in print and pattern book

One of my favorite bloggers/the surface pattern design guru has curated a fabulous print and pattern book. I am so pleased to be included. Here’s a quick scan of my spread. It’s missing a piece but I’m in a rush. Today is the last day of my staycation. A friend and I are going to brunch and then to the Brooklyn Botanical gardens to check out some cherry blossoms.

So read about the book in the author’s words on her blog entitled….Print & Pattern. Then pick up a copy here.

Have a lively weekend! XO.
