Cloud sky

cloud sky

We just got back from the most wonderful vacation with my family at a beach house. Henry played in the sand and I boogie boarded with my cousin. The next day was more of the same: Boogie boarding, jumping in the waves, digging in the sand, peanut butter sandwiches, naps under the umbrella and outdoor showers. Then we had a couple of cloudy, windy and rainy days. I’m thrilled that we had our fun in the sun but the mood at the beach when the weather is rough is so incredible. The waves were violently crashing on the shore, the air was so cool and crisp. Clouds filled the blue gray skies. We wrapped Henry up in a cozy towel and put him in a hoodie for a moody stroll. He loved looking at the waves. What a perfect way to end the summer.

We’re taking Henry to a beach house my aunt is renting. He’ll be surrounded by family. I can’t wait to take him to the ocean!!! Have fun whatever you are doing! See you Monday! XO.

Yesterday morning I was making some baby food for Henry with a nectarine, yellow squash, blueberries, a red apple and a red pepper (I throw them all (chopped up) into boiling water for a short while, then puree them). When I took them out of the water the most beautiful color was left behind. I couldn’t just toss it in the sink so I grabbed some drawing paper and dipped it, soaked it and then laid it out to dry. I tried it with watercolor paper too but it would not absorb the color so I wound up putting the water color paper on top of the soaked drawing paper and it left a cool hazy shape. It kind of looks tie dyed. I love this. I should do it next time I make food and then use the paper as backgrounds for drawings.

Try this at home!!!

Happy mid-week. I suppose it’s unhappy as I’d like time to slow down rather than speed up. I am seriously dreading the end of summer. Maybe that’s why these girls are so sad?

It’s been amazing spending my days with baby Henry and doing freelance jobs and lots of personal work. I love doing my daily drawings during Henry’s morning nap. Today I’m sharing a few of them.

Tomorrow I’ll share some veggie/fruit dyed paper. I was making him some food this morning and when I took the fruits and veggies out of the water I fell in love with the color left behind so decided to dip paper into it. It’s drying right now.

Hope you have a lovely day.

I can’t believe I’ve been blogging since August 2007. It’s been so incredible along the way to connect with bloggers and readers! Some of whom have become true and dear friends outside the virtual world.

Thank you for tuning in to listen to my musings about the things that inspire me or just to look at my daily drawings and illustrations.  Thank you for all of your support and encouragement.

For this occasion I thought it would be fun to round up some posts from over the years and re-share them (in doing so I feel my life flashing before my eyes). Hope you enjoy! All my love.
