On again off again

on again off again watercolor on watercolor paper 9X12

I painted this up. I suppose we’ve all had a relationship like that at one time or another.

July 4th essentials: Cute dress, comfy sandals, picnic blanket + basket and DIY bug spray that smells good

July 4th essentials- Cute dress, picnic blanket + basket and DIY bug spray that smells good

  1. Issa: Kimono dress (to be gorgeous and comfy at the same time!)
  2. Festive picnic basket for 2 (for wine, cheese, crackers and some homemade Laduree  macarons)
  3. Urban Outfitters: Pendleton National Park blanket (for watching fireworks on)
  4. Pelle Moda: Stud flat sandals (so cute with the dress but good for walking too)

Want to make your own ‘good smelling’ bug spray? Try this, via ehow:

  1. 2 cups of witch hazel
  2. 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin
  3. 20 drops each of citronella & lemon balm essential oils
  4. Shake it all up to mix thoroughly. It is best stored in a tinted glass spray bottle, but this could be harder to find. If you use a clear bottle, ensure you keep it out of direct light when not in use.

Great beach poster

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Saturday night we went out for a date when baby Henry went to sleep (the babysitter just had to hang out eating snacks and watching a movie because we can’t resist putting him to bed ourselves). We walked along the high line, it was really beautiful. Sunday we celebrated father’s day. It was my husband’s first. Henry decided to stand up in his crib! It’s a big milestone. He’s not even 8 months old so it was kind of surprising. Now I’m so nervous he’ll fall over and clonk his little head but I’m trying to be relaxed about everything and not look worried when he looks at me to see my reactions.

It’s supposed to be a really hot week. I hate hot weather because I love to walk around and lay in the park with Henry. The heat makes us feel so languid. So I hope it will rain tomorrow afternoon and blow some of the heat away!

The only time I love heat is when we’re at the beach.

This is such a great poster– via Grain Edit.

experimenting

feeling blue

I’m working at home today while baby Henry plays at the nanny share. I miss him but I’m getting work done and doing some fun art experimentation. I just made this piece playing around with layered watercolor and pen drawings. I guess she’s feeling blue.
